Eating: I made a delicious meal last night. I am very impressed with myself so I will share. Shake 'n Bake pork chops to which I added some Italian seasoning for a little extra taste. Orzo, which I boiled in water combined with a little tomato sauce and Italian seasoning (most of it gets drained off but the orzo is extra tasty). I also had a little side of asparagus (frozen, chopped). It was so simple and yet really yummy. And only 8 points for the whole meal (in case you Weight Watchers were counting).

Reading: The book I chose for bookclub this month is Toast: The Story of a Boy's Hunger by Nigel Slater. It is a foodie memoire. I am excited to start it.

This past bookclub, we read Goodnight Nobody by Jennifer Weiner. It was a very quick read and kind of fun. The narrator is an unexpected mother of three living in the shiny happy suburbs. She feels inadequate amongst the other stay-at-home supermommies (you know the ones - always well-prepared at the playground with a nutritious organic snack, dressed in her designer clothes with no indication of spit-up on her shoulder, her 5 children have crisp, wholesome, organic names and are excrutiatingly polite to adults, she throws themed birthday parties with a magician, a clown, pony rides and a bouncy castle present and gives out useful, elaborate goodie bags). And then one of the supermommies is murdered. Kate begins to investigate the murder and discovers the seamy side of the suburbs...
